Bytes Remaining in File Transfer It may be trivial but I'd like to see the remaining bytes of a file left to be transferred in both the Downloads and Uploads section, which would go along with the time remaining and transfer speed information. It's a nice outlook to have, sort of like knowing how many miles you have left to drive on a road trip. |
That's a pretty neat idea. It wouldn't work as well for uploads, because people very often will only want a portion of the file (and there's no easy way in advance to know how much is left; which is somewhat of a reason why occasionally you'll see a complete upload that isn't 100% progress). But for downloads that's a neat idea -- maybe in a tooltip instead of a column? |
How about having a choice between % completed, % remaining, kbytes completed, kbytes remaining? Actually, what I'd really like to see are progress bars that reflect the byte range someone is uploading/I am downloading. With all upload bars starting at the left, and then ending after 1% or so, it is completely unclear whether the upload was successful. Also, the chunks could be reflected in the progress bars. I hate to say it, but I think Shareaza does a really good job at that. I don't think that would be so hard to implement |
