Default realistic outbound bandwidth settings for Cable Modem / DSL

I'd like to see realistic outbound bandwidth settings for the Cable Modem/DSL setting. I have a cable modem that is limited to 1500 kbps download.... but a mere 128 kbps upload (approximately 16 KBps).

With the older versions of Limewire, it was possible for me to leave Limewire running 24/7 even when I wanted to play a real time game like Half-Life. I'd just "disconnect" from the network and temporarilly drop the maximum outbound bandwidth to 2 or 3 KBps. This level of traffic didn't impact the ping times or the quality of my gaming experience. Once I was done gaming, I'd return the max outbound bandwidth to 12 KBps or so. However, at some point LimeWire was changed so that the minimum bandwidth with a Cable modem is 10.94 KBps.

I can sort of understand the point behind having a minimum outbound - otherwise, the leeches would just set the outbound bandwidth to some pittiful small value while setting their Max # Connections to some huge value. But right now I have this situation where I'm stuck choosing between one of two choices: 1) delaying my game playing until the last outbound download is complete. 2) Closing Limewire completely, meaning that anyone currently downloading a rare file from me ended up with a partial download they likely won't be able to complete.

So my request is for some more reasonable values for the outbound bandwidth for the DSL/Cable Modem setting.

I'm currently using LimeWire 3.02 on Win 2000. (No, I don't upgrade my software every time Limewire has a new version, but I do try to keep reasonably up-to-date.)
