User Rating Hello-
I don't know if this idea has been mentioned or not but I couldn't find it posted anywhere else so..
After using limewire for a year I just saw kazaa and it has this great set up.
Each person has a user name (one that could also be used for chatting for limewire's case) and you get an individual "user rating" whose score/rating can go up or down depending on the number of uploads/downloads that user is preforming. More uploads than downloads and the rating goes up. And of course this works in reverse, more downloads and it goes down, 0 being the lowest If you have a higher score you have higher priority to download and more speed given to that user etc. If your score is at 0 then you have the limited capabilities.
This is a very simple set up to solve a large (freeloader) problem in my opinion. Because it promotes sharing but still allows freeloaders some lee-way. |
