Improving the magnet-implementation by recognizing local files Hi, The Magnet Implementation could be improved (and be brought closer to the original intent of magnets). When receiving a magnet-link LimeWire should first check, if the Hash is already in its shared files. If yes, it shouldn't redownload the file, but simply put a "link" into the download section which points to the local file. This would also resolve a bug, where a magnet-link doesn't get downloaded, when the download name correspods with an already downloaded file in the download-folder (tested with Acquisition). Additionally it would be nice, if I could activate an option which adds my own files to the search results aka "also search locally". Then I could use LimeWire also for local fille-searches in my own document-database (which has grown quite much...) and I could avoid searching for files on my disk, which LimeWire displays as being already present locally. |
