Lightbulb Limit folder access to certain IP's

I like the feature where you can connect to a friends files and share but I think things you dont mind your friends seeing isnt right for others to download. I would like to share my little childrens pictures with my family. This system is a lot better than uploading them to a server and spending hrs arranging all the pictures on a web page. I think it would be cool to be able to limit certain folders to certain IP addresses, maybe with a password or something. I allowed my folders of pictures last night and noticed people were downloading them and they didnt even know their content.

Sounds like a program more like Direct Connect might serve that pupose better. At least with that you'd be able to limit who has access.

Default Direct Connect

Is this a different software program, Direct Connect, or are you talking about the utility with in Lime Wire? If your talking about Lime Wire, you have to allow the certain folders to be shared for a friend to be able to get to your files through direct connect. When you do that, everyone else can get to them too, other wise you wont be able to share those files with any one.

Hi Robert,

This is on the list of things we're looking to add to LimeWire at some point. Namely, easier & more secure sharing of certain content with frends and family. (I too noticed someone downloading pictures of me from my LimeWire last night, and it did freak me out a little bit.)

Default Thanks for responding.

Cool. Thanks!

I dont know why someone else would want pictures of my familiy but you know with so many freaks out there, you never know. Some people just view photography as an art form even with other people they dont know in them or they are looking for ideas to paint, I hope. I only noticed it right after listing the folder to be shared too, but not since and there is not even a discription on the pics. Weird!
