Back in the dim and distant past I had a dial-up connection, I also got myself an accelerator which worked by caching (in my PCs memory) the next logical connection. However, if I decided to surf somewhere else, rather than the next screen page, I would loose the cache and my fake speed.

LW works by making dynamic connections, i.e. if you loose a connection to a file you are downloading LW tries to find another without interupting your download. How would you cache connections like that especially as one the many PCs you are connected to can be switched off at any time.

What is needed, if you have a slow connection, e.g. dial-up, is a faster connection, i.e. broadband (ASDL).

Nothing else will give you the speed you want.

LOL Don't Tease me im on DU (till monday). but you have a strong point. Yet some people are like me they want DSL but parents won't allow them to have it (mostly in Australia (this country is full of tight A*S's)) This is for the fact broadband is a expencive item to have here. EG: a ISP im going with does 12Gig Dls/Capped after the 12 Gigs have been Dled. They charge $30 AUD a month, some places world wide charge about $10 AUD for the same thing just a tad less DL's.

Yep Night-Fire, ISP services here are very much in the early phases of marketing & still developing infrastructure around the country to help with increased speeds & services. I'm on unlimited* u/d but only 264/64 kbps.

People might be duped into the concept of an accelerator but they'll find in the end it was a waste of money & possibly stuffed up their computer.

Yep Tell me about it but soon 256, 512 & 1.5MB will b killed at the end of this year because of DSL2 as soon as that happens we r sweet. what isp r u with because im thinking of a company with the initials IP**m*s (censering for possible infringment issues) 256/64. If u r with them can u tell me if they r good. because their du is only good for DLing of torrents n some LW files. but DSL is better then DU ne day of the week lol. and yes i know accouple of P2P accelerators that have screwed mine & mates PC's. they load to many dll scripts into your system some altering system files.

DSL2 has arrived with my ISP but the limitations of u&d/month is a bit of a turn off. I can swap to dsl2 without any xtra cost but would be faced with a speed but to 72 kbps if I went over the monthly u/p limit. So with due consideration I've decided to wait. But if I swap my local calls over to them & pay an xtra $10/mth then I can get dsl2 with 20 GB limit. But it sounds too risky since I near that already & I'm using just a fraction of the speed.
