New Feature Requests Your idea for a cool new feature. Or, a LimeWire annoyance that has to get changed. |

![]() I often like to keep track of how fast my downloads and uploads are going. In emule when you roll your mouse over the tray icon it says: Up: 5 Down: 7 so you don't have to bring up the window to see. In Limewire all it says is: Limewire, running the Gnutella Network What useless information! Emule also shows running speeds on the status bar at the bottom of the program, which is very useful so that you don't have to skip back between the windows and do some arithmatic. Could emule add a feature like this? Even better, the lime could get darker and darker the faster your downloads are going, or it could have little green dots pile up like Emule Plus has. Don't get me wrong, I like Limewire, so much I bought pro, but I think it could learn a few things from Emule =) |

![]() Those are some really good ideas, Robert. If you have time, could you go to http://limewire.org/jira and put them in as a feature request? That way, anyone browsing for things to do can see this, and we can keep track of potential features. Thanks! |

![]() I tried to post this on Jira, but the server is stalled for some reason, I'll post it there later, but I'd like to keep a copy here too of my idea on this subject. Not only it should show the Download/Upload ratios, but if you right click on the Limewire, you should have quick access Gauge controls to quickly adjust bandwidth from there, without needing to open Tools, Options, etc. This I found very useful with eMule Plus. ------------------------------------ | | Upload ---|------ 10 kb/s | Download --------|- 9999kb/s | ( ) Set both to maximum | ( ) Set both to minimum ____________________________________ You can have several other radio buttons, in case you let user create what I would call "Bandwidth Profiles" ( ) I'll be away for a while, Share baby!! ( ) I'm back, Keep it low ( ) I'm here but not browsing much All this could be available to you, on a Right Click on the IconTray Lime (XP,Linux with KDE or Gnome), and in the case of us Linux users with not so fancy Window Managers, that section on the left bottom of the Window, where you put the green bars, it'd be perfect to show Upload/Download Rates, and if clicked, show a little dialog like depicted above. |
