XP feature compatability

For LimeWire I share my "My Documents" folder and everything in it but sometimes I have personal files in there I do not wish to share but really loathe having to put them elsewhere when I feel thats where the file belongs! (im a neat freak) I tried hiding them yet to no avail they are still being showed as a shared item in my LimeWire.

Can LimeWire recognize these hidden files and know not to share them on the network?

Or does anyone have any other suggestions??
