Hi ... I'm trying to work out if you have been using LW for a while, or a different p2p application ... and I don't know if you have been lurking in the forums for a while. I had to read your posts a couple of times, but I think you are asking that one should be able to look at an uploader and tell instantly how many files he is sharing. An excellent idea, if I read it right, but .... if it is possible, and I can't see why not, ... likely, I fear, to be as unreliable as the present system of browsing hosts. The following thread is worth looking at. I imagine the mechanics of browsing hosts and counting shared files are pretty much similar http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...5&pagenumber=2 |

Hobo, I believe you did read it correctly. Since the program tallys up the files you are sharing when you launch the program, maybey it can transmit that figure to other users. And to answer your question, I have used LW for a little over a year. I have only used the forums to find the anwers to some of my questions and numerous problems I've had. It's a great source. I've tried other P2P's, but nothing even comes close to LW. Kazaa worked pretty good about four years ago, but that changed. |
