New Feature Requests Your idea for a cool new feature. Or, a LimeWire annoyance that has to get changed. |

![]() Automatic RESUME I think there should be a feature called Automatic Resume or have an Automatic Resume button. Giving the consumer the choice would be better. I think all of ones files should resume automatically after each and every one of them come up "Awaiting Sources". It gets tedius always watching my incomplete files ticking down from 300 to 0 then switch over to "Awaiting Sources". Basically, I want LW to do my resuming work for me. I have to click the clear inactive files and go to my incomplete folder and shift down to resume them all over again. Considering I have to restart all of my "searches" over and over, it's the least LW could do. I know I sound like a spoiled brat, but this could be so much easier with a little programming. Please don't give me the crap of LW already does this stuff. I can tell you from years of LW experience that manually resuming your stuff dramatically helps your download ability. Sooooooooo many times I check my LW to find all my files at "Awaiting Sources" and when I do my manual resuming process....they flippin start downloading....sometimes all of them. THAT infuriates me to no end. Ughhh!! See what you can do...... |

![]() I would really appreciate this facility too. I find that I have to continually repeat a search to look for the files I'm trying to download. Plus constant "Resume" and "Find Sources" clicks. It would be great to just be able to select a file and watch the program do the work finding and downloading the file. |

![]() See Requeries (click on link) as this explains why it's not a prefered option. Resuming all your files at once will add a dramatic amount of traffic to the network. If everyone did this then the network would slow down considerably. And that would mean much slower searches, slower downlds, slower getting connected, etc. The gnutella network is different from other networks & doesn't want to make the same mistakes some of them have made. I must say the resume function was more effective in earlier versions. But using the search function is even much more effective. Choosing the right file to downld with lots of sources & not too many downlds at once also helps. ![]() |

![]() I would be happy if the resume function only tried once every 15 minutes or so, or once one of my connections changes, in which case it could send the resume query to the new server only. I'm fully aware of the problems of overloading the network |

![]() Would it help if LW ran the query to every new connection that it connects to? If I'm downloading 5 files this would only result in 5 new queries on one new server, which isn't exactly overloading. |

![]() If you watch https://www.limewire.org/fisheye/changelog/limecvs/ you can see the code the developers are trying. There is hope the equivalent of automatic requeries is being developed. |
