The ability to search for more sources for a specific file while dl-ing The ability to search for more sources for a specific file while dl-ing thats the only thing i can see missing. it was possible in kazaa lite, maybe kazaa too idk, and it gave you possibilities of very high speed downloads. in kazaa lite it was performed by right clicking of your downloads (while they are dling) and clicking an option named Search for more sources (or something alike) this feature is a must |
yeah but it does it slowly and doesnt focus much on that, i wud like to be able to force it manually to search for more hosts |
This reminds me of a feature request I was going to make. Though I haven't checked the list I'm gonna post it here anyway :D In the list of downloads window when you right click and in the search menu, have it search for the exact file, type, bytes and in the case of video's, dimensions, length, bitrate or what not. So for the it just just keyword searches for all types. So I get lil 34kb exe's for a 900mb file. LW just hasn't seemed to figure out how to make searches "smart" yet. |
morb--this ability was removed over a year ago, with great reluctance. It was a *very* popular feature It's called searching by hash, but turned out to be very "expensive" in terms of network stability (such searches were drowning out so much other traffic) that limewire had to ban such searches. Since then, only "keyword" searches are "allowed." The gnutella developers have continued to discuss and try ways to get equivalent power in searches. I hope they can find a feasible way, but I'm not holding my breath. If you want to know more about the history of such, let me know and I'll dig up the links |
