These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent. Bans cannot be removed by the moderators and probably won't be removed by the administration. The Rules 1. Warez, copyright violation, or any other illegal activity may NOT be linked or expressed in any form. Topics discussing techniques for violating these laws and messages containing locations of web sites or other servers hosting illegal content will be silently removed. Multiple offenses will result in consequences. File names are not required to discuss your issues. If filenames are copyright then do not belong on these forums & will be edited out or post removed. Picture sample attachments in posts must not include copyright infringement. 2. Spamming and excessive advertising will not be tolerated. Commercial advertising is not allowed in any form, including using in signatures. 3. There will be no excessive use of profanity in any forum. 4. There will be no racial, ethnic, or gender based insults, or any other personal attacks. 5. Pictures may be attached to posts and signatures if they are not sexually explicit or offensive. Picture sample attachments in posts must not include copyright infringement. 6. Remember to post in the correct forum. Take your time to look at other threads and see where your post will go. If your post is placed in the wrong forum it will be moved by a moderator. There are specific Gnutella Client sections for LimeWire, Phex, FrostWire, BearShare, Gnucleus, Morpheus, and many more. Please choose the correct section for your problem. 7. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. Keep in mind a forum censor may temporarily automatically hold up your post, if you do not see your post, do not post again, it will be dealt with by a moderator within a reasonable time. Authors of multiple copies of same post may be dealt with by moderators within their discrete judgment at the time which may result in warning or infraction points, depending on severity as adjudged by the moderators online. 10. Posts should have descriptive topics. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. Reiterating, do not post your email address in posts. This is for your own protection. 12. Signatures may be used as long as they are not offensive or sexually explicit or used for commercial advertising. Commercial weblinks cannot be used under any circumstances and will result in an immediate ban. 13. Dual accounts are not allowed. Cannot explain this more simply. Attempts to set up dual accounts will most likely result in a banning of all forum accounts. 14. Video links may only be posted after you have a tally of two forum posts. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam. 15. Failure to show that you have read the forum rules may result in forum rules breach infraction points or warnings awarded against you which may later total up to an automatic temporary or permanent ban. Supplying system details is a prerequisite in most cases, particularly with connection or installation issues. Violation of any of these rules will bring consequences, determined on a case-by-case basis. Thank You! Thanks for taking the time to read these forum guidelines. We hope your visit is helpful and mutually beneficial to the entire community. |

feature request the rise of digital rights management has come to a frustrating situation for me. When i download some content, I am confronted with a popup in windows media player 10 to aquire a license from a specific content provider. When i agree to do so, I get forwarded to a poorly designed website and a request to enter my email address for a so called password COMES UP. Then a dialup hijack executable tries to download to my computer. My feature request is simple: A filter built into limewire that can identify these annoying files and mark them as DRM managed; so i can avoid this trash. ThankYOU. |

First of all, this is only with porn files... So that's out of the way - and secondly, just download a decent file size (< 10 MB (above 10mb)) so it isn't risky. Otherwise, I support this feature as most people just click at whatever fantasises them. |

reply to reply lol just for pornos - wrong 10mb+ safety - no filesize should be considered safe. Now. It is getting popular as people don't delete the fakes. Please delete them ty. Last edited by zapbuzz; January 4th, 2007 at 07:03 AM. |

supplimental I have identified that there are servers generating file names as responses to search queries. These are all fakes with drm to get page hits. Type whatever you want and it'll give you a fake drm instead. Its not porn either. |

What would solve it would be An easy way to solve this situation would be if LimeWire would simply put in a "Over/Under" file size option. It was in Kazaa and all those other ones and always help me find exactly what I was looking for because I knew the size the file should be and went from there. I hope somebody from Limewire is reading this and puts it into future Limewires. Also if it's only available on the PRO additions then they should put that out there. All it says for PRO is that it's got advanced Search stuff but doesn't tell me what that is. THEY NEED file size options because it seems to me all the crap is on the rise and if that happens then everyone will move on to the next best thing. Anyways how can they know what your looking for and make files up? Is that a Limewire Money making thing or just a hacker thing? Doesn't make much sense to me. I've searched just crazy random words and somebody has it there. I also agree if people would not be stupid and download insanely small files then half the problems would go away. If they deleted them after making the mistake of downloading them the other half of the problem would go away. |

LRC files for ipods I would like to see LRC files so that we could download them for ipods. Maybe we already have this feature and i just dont know it yet. Is this so? If not i look forward to seeing it. I would also like to see a burn cd feature on limewire. currently we dont have one, but this would be a valuable feature for users. |

I get so excited about some files and 2 days later after they are finally downloaded, I find out it's nothing but some crappy porn with ugly, sleezy, huge fake breasted girls. Or else it's some long show about 9/11, or Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle ? ? ? ? lol .. So it's a trick to make you watch that movie? A promo perhaps by some executives of White Castle franchise ?? lol ?:P |

Delete? Rename? People are stupid. I've got to say that right now. I myself have never tried to download a file and have it come up something else, except once. Mostly I know what size my file should be and what size it shouldn't and that gives me a lot of information. Now you're never going to get everyone out there to delete or rename their files because a lot of them are stupid, like anybody who would think any file at all is only 147.2 Kb, if they download them then they're never going to be able to realize that they have to delete/rename them. The real key is to add the size specification to the searches. As in "Above:________" Or "Below:_______" so that if the idiot spammers out there (that should all rot in hell and have bad things done with them by really sick demented people!) want their files to be picked up at least they have to fill their hard drive with bigger files to try and trick us with. My keywords block list I swear is like a dictionary in length and always adding more as more and more nonsense pops up for normal words or phrases. |
