New Feature Requests Your idea for a cool new feature. Or, a LimeWire annoyance that has to get changed. |

Crap CRAP - A brief and descriptive word for useless stuff, unless you are a vegetable grower. Note- I am VERY new to all this stuff! I don't know if it has been requested before, but I am finding it very frustrating to spend a deal of time downloding something, only to find it is NOT what it is stated. The issue is that you then see hundreds downloading the same item, in expectation of getting the referenced item. All this sharing of CRAP, slows everything and costs us all in the long run. QUESTION - Is it possible for us to be able to click on an item and tag it as "Not as described" or better, actually describe the item. eg. a claimed DVD of (say) Ice Age 2, is actually a 90min dvd of a test patern, or "Lex the Impaler". When I discover such a deception, I immediately rename the item to the correct description, or delete it completely. Simply, there should be some shared reporting system. I am presuming that a particular "Find in my folder" gets an ident number, and everything is linked back to the number. |

CRAP Thanks for the hint - I'll go look into it. The only thing that concerns me is that it appears that we have to go elsewhere, in order to check on the credentials of a particular download. I would like to think that all the information was there in front of me before I attempt a download. Even if it was a 1 character field, that if there is any outside comment, ( ie - This file contains a virus. This mov is blank. This movie is "Lex the Impaler" etc.) I have not been active for long enough to make a true observation, but I do feel that there is a dramatic increase in CRAP. I would not let my kids use LIMEWIRE to collect songs, because of the high number of corrupted items being presented as a search result. In most instances you ask how it could have been chosen by search, because it has nothing to do with the subject. If dilligent and fair people inserted comments, then perhaps that same field could be used to bar access without a master password. Nothing will ever be 100%. It would at least be a start. PS - Bitzi - I don't find a link to anything thus called on LIMEWIRE, so even if it exists elsewhere, what use is it, if it can't give instant information on potential downloads? It is like saying - "You can read the Forum!" LIMEWIRE is a fantastic facility but it appears to be in the process of being hijacked by cyber-terrorists and deviants and commercial sellers Last edited by Praco; February 15th, 2006 at 11:46 PM. |

This link explains what and where to find Bitzi http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...did=37676..... You do use bitzi in conjuction with Limewire, you access the web site when you have found a file you want (the link will explain).. I do hear your frustration some people do name files incorrectly and do this on purpose so when you download a childs movie it would be porn instead, I like you do not let my kids download, I do it for them because it may not only be the wrong file but it could be a virus as well... Im a member of Bitzi as well and its a fantastic site it will tell you the quality, if its corrupt and even if its been named correctly.. Good luck with your downloading and I hope this helped.... |

actually, if you right click on the file name, it gives you the option to check the bitzi site. right click, then go to "advanced". then you can choose "lookup file with bitzi" and your default browser will open to the page about that particular file. |
