Why not "Blackball" hosts who purposly create missleading files?

I have downloaded so many files that contain "Addons," "Adware," and "Trojon Horses," that is has become a near nightmare to try and download at all. I've learned a lot, and some of what to avoid, yet still get fooled. I have so many hosts blocked now, that my searches usualy begin with the blocked hosts at the top of the lists. Is this a scam being run by unscrupulous people? If so, perhaps LW could find a way to interveen without stepping on the freedom of others? A lot to ask, isn't it?

It's next to impossible. Just be careful to always scan the files you've downloaded with a good anti-virus program Before you open it or play it.

I personally know not to download any "197.7KB" or "851.7KB" files

Now there are trash cans next to all the DL files to show they are Garbage. Only thing is...there are so many, you wonder if they are trashy files or not. I just know my Zone Alarm goes crazy with the DL and by the time it quarenteen, deletes or tells me about it...the file is trashed and unusable. I screen my files to see if they are free of viruses and complete before I put them in the UL pile for someone else to DL. Wish others would have the comon courtesy to do the same...my mom taught me right. (Wish she'd taught me how to spell!) Oh well you can't have everything.

Oh..and I tell my vscan to scan my DL files directory while they are DL. So it catches it before it's even finished. ;)
