I would use it no matter what, but I would disable all the spyware and adware.

Get AdAware to get rid of some of it, and then get the dummy cd_clint file to disable the ads .... done.

it won't hurt your system 'cause that's the file that handles banner ads for programs, like LimeWire and Morpheus. Deleting that will just make the banner ads go away. But, some programs need the file or they stop working, so the dummy file gets rid of the banner ads and allows the program to continue working.

And where might I get this dummy file? Or how would I go about making one.

(I couldn't edit my post with the code mistake in it because I was unregistered, so I registered)

Thanks for the info!

No on so study up on spyware.

I had a hell of a time getting rid of a program called ptsnoop.
Any ideas where that could have come from?

I stopped using Limewire because of the Ads and Bundled software and started using bearshare, I kept a V1.7 on the PC(No Ads) and found that my kids prefered Limewire to bearshare.
Me too actually, but out of conviction for anti-ads I kept with
bearshare.

I was delighted to see the pro version being offered, bought it, and took bearshare of the PC. The kids are happy, I'm happy and delighted to support limewire by buying it.

Good software simply deserves to be paid for.

Well done

Default better music preview

make it so when i click launch on a file and its still d/ling it doesnt just play the segment d/led so far but it will play the newly d/led stuff. know what i mean. so lets say i start d/ling a song and now its at 1%, i click on launch, it starts playing and the download manager streams the new d/led data to the preview file. basically how it is with all other file sharing programs (e.g. winmx, morpheus, kazaa). thanks. btw, this is possibly the one feature thats keeping me away from limewire. small but important.

Ads I can live with, but please no spyware. It is morally repugnant.

(The wording of this poll with double negatives is a bit confusing)
