![]() There is a website I visit to tell me my IP. Everytime I run Limewire, I first find out my IP, then I enter it into the Advanced Options Firewall page. Why doesn't LimeWire just do it for me? Duh, how easy can this be? Assuming the operator of this website doesn't change their site any, all you have to do is have LimeWire visit this http://www.whatismyip.com/ website. Now, look for the following HTML tag: (TITLE)Your ip is xx.x.xx.xxx WhatIsMyIP.com(/TITLE) (I had to change the pointy brackets to round brackets, but you get the idea.) Now, merely insert this into the IP adress of the options page. Okay, now allow me to turn this feature on and off, and you're set. Other sites do similar things, but this one is pretty simple and slick. The LimeWire company could do the same thing (it's just a cgi script, oif course) so that the format will never change. But come on, this is easy!! |
