a virus reporting plug-in well as you know sometimes when you doownload something its really something else. Well as of right now we have a junk reporter, now imagine if we had a virus reporter...so imagine limewire or the actual system sending virus reports back to hq to delete viruses of the network...also other things the virus reporting could have is an I.P tracer so that the creator of the virus is traced back to him and the subject can there forth get caught... |

Some people want to download viruses. Like SubSeven, Back Orifice, and NetBus. |
That's fine just as long as it's not mislabled to mislead others who think they are downloading an MP3 or AVI file only to get blasted. If it's a virus for others to disect, it should be labeled VIRUS or somthing like that. |
It's easy to tell which ones are a hoax and which are real. The average movie file size is around 700 MB. If it's less than 650 MB and in the 200-500 MB range then it's obviously a video cam someone took into the theatre so dont download those ones lol. And if it is less than 5 MB then it's a virus(in most cases). For mp3 files, it varies. But if it's less than 1 MB then it's most likely a trick too. Most of the viruses I've seen are around 130 KB or somethin. So if it's 1 MB or up, it's ok to download. :) Btw, watch out for .wav files. Those ones are usually the ones that have viruses. |
misuse adding such a feature would require a server to host and collect data of this list, and have a central point isnt what p2p is about, also if implemented: many legit songs of out coming cd's would be targeted with false voting from the RIAA and individual record company's, just like how they already release alot of fake songs making it harder to download real ones. |
