What it will help prevent is Organisations trying to connect via Port 6346. But leeching the network is not going to make a difference to such access. How about everybody who uses Gnutella suddenly stop sharing. How many files do you think you would find in a search. lol

NeWHeN-

I find your avatar- Help End Poverty, Eat The Poor a poor choice. May I suggest you change it to something a little less offensive/repulsive. You may have used it initially as a joke, but poverty is no joke. And the solution your avatar mentions sickens me.

NeWheN

I agree with the others about your avatar but I will, hopefully, give you a solution to your "sharing" problem.

First of all, PG2 is not a firewall and cannot block other P2P users from sharing your "sharing folder/directory". PG2 is an IP blocker that blocks government agencies (both domestic and foreign) for gaining access to your PC via port 6346.

Now, if I understand your post correctly and you have private information on your PC that you want to protect, like I do, then you must protect your PC with the followings protection software:

1) Anti-Virus app - This will stop viruses, Trojans, worms form gaining access to your PC.

2) A firewall app - This will stop your PC from being hacked or bots gaining access to your PC.

3) At least two, better with three, anti-spyware apps - This will stop your browser from being hi-jacked, delete keyloggers and others nasties that are not viruses.

There are other protective software around, like Prevx1 which prevents secret installations and will ask your permission to run any application that it does not recognise.

OK, as for sharing, as long as you keep your private information in folders/directories that LW cannot see, that is LW will only see and share the following:

C:\Program Files\Limewire\Shared

C:\Program Files\Limewire\Incomplete

and any other folders/directories that YOU designate.

you will be permanently banned in ~24 hours from this moment unless you change your avatar, etc....
