May we have separate Up/Down load folders? At least 25% of files available for download are mis-identified. So I prefer to download to a different folder than what I offer for upload, so I may correct the errors, or simply delete junk files before propagating the mistakes to others. The problem is, I have not discovered a means to let Limewire know that I want to move a file (or several files) from non-shared (download only) to upload folders. When I have 18 different uploads going on at once, I do not want to do a 'refresh', because many times the uploader(s) get(s) dropped. I would like to have a 'move' function similar to that in Windows, to painlessly make new files available to uploaders. If this is already available, and I am simply too blind to see the mechanism, will someone please point the way to me? |
1 Attachment(s) Go to tools>Options>Uploads>Basic you can turn of partial sharing there. |

And Grandpa started you on the right step. Disable auto sharing of completed downlds. Verify your downloads & then put them into a folder thats's being shared. To Share immediately though, you'd need to press the Refresh button in the library window. That will force LW to re-account for it's shared files. At present there is no procedure as you wish. You'd need to do it manually. ie: move verified files to that share folder. I only add songs to my iTunes music library after I have verified them 1st. With over 100 GB iTunes music library to share .. But you can also separate your audio download folder: How to Change download location (click on link) (specific for folders) How to Share Folders (click on link) |
Well, I had already changed my download folder to separate new acquisitions from the files already verified and available for download. And I am already manually moving files that have been verified into the shared folder. But as you say, that requires a 'refresh', that frequently terminates the uploads in progress ... something I do not want to do, because I do not like having my own downloads terminated 'in progress'. So (for now) I simply drain the uploaders and when the count goes to 0, I do the refresh. The 'move' facility within LimeWire would still remain on my 'wish list'. :( |
