Default Good file.... Bad file....

How about creating a unique id for single files (which already exist) then allow every user who downloads this file to click on a button inside Limewire to report a good, or bad file. The bad files reported should then be exempted from further search results.
A checksum that is deleted should never be allowed to return to limewire...
what do you think?

What happens when the RIAA marks every file as a 'bad file'?

Scan files before blacklisting, make sure they're trojans, virus, or corrupt, then delete them. If a file is marked bad and it checks out fine, then that checksum stays whitelisted until it is proven to be bad.

How will this happen? Will I need to store on my computer (within Limewire somewhere) a list of all files that are viruses, trojans, or corrupted? Or will I need to update my Limewire everyday with a new list? Who will I update with? I'm don't think the developers of Limewire feel responsible for people who infect themselves while downloading copyrighted material...you do agree not to download copyrighted material when you download Limewire.

Delete them from where?

Default junk file option

i thought the "junk" file option would be great.

until all my searches bring up nothing but "marked as junk"?

i actually thought it WAS all junk (why would all these people mark all this music as junk?)

i DL a marked file after i peeked in on a host (browse) nothing wrong with it.
obviously my idea of junk is different than some.

therein lies the problem. who decides what's Really the junk? just because i don't want to wade through porn on this site, doesn't mean someone else won't want to. if 1,000,000,000 people (or 1 person) don't like an artist that I like, does that make it junk?

I think it would be a good idea if LW did introduce a feature like that but it would be even better if you could see vote percentages and maybe even some feedback

I noticed the same thing. Whenever I marked specific files as junk (for instance all these .mov files Limewire gets swamped with - very annoying b.t.w.) I seemed to get punished by getting al lot of "junk" files in return.

Perhaps an option to filter these .mov files out would be nice?
