Editing info on songs when incorrect

First, system info: Windows XP, cable Internet, available memory 130 GB.

Feature I would like most: the ability to change incorrect info on downloaded songs when it shows up in Windows Media Player. Too many times listed singer is incorrect, or composer, etc. Also spelling (sorry, I'm old, and spelling matters to me). I would just like to know if I download a song that it would be as listed, and not something totally different. Example: singer listed as Michael Buble, but obviously Frank Sinatra, and album cover that of Frank, also. This would save a lot of time spent downloading songs that aren't what I want. Thanks

i sort of agree with u....its a pain in the neck when u download something u didnt ask for....
but then again if EVERYONE could edit the names......i think EVERYTHING would have a spam/selling name like: Free Torrents, or some other crap

Actually it is extreemly easy to edit the tag information on files. In Media player library simply right click on the file you want to edit and goto Advanced tag editor this will allow you to change any of the tagged information for the file.

I totally agree that incorrect info is annoying - why are users so sloppy? One file is credited to "Freddy Mercury & Lisa Stansfield" yet is from the tribute concert to Freddy, the recording dating some 4 years after he was dead! It was of course George Michael & lisa.

As for BRSANKO's tip - you can change the details in your Media file, but it does not edit the info other than the main name etc on the Limewire data, so the error goes on and on......

Yeah, but what if you have found a way to play them on Itunes? Then how do you edit the info??
