New Feature Requests Your idea for a cool new feature. Or, a LimeWire annoyance that has to get changed. |

![]() OK I have to admit I am new at Limewire. I have used Gnotella before and the most noticable difference to me is that I can not restart half complete downloads. I have read the FAQ and didn't see anything about it so I am thinking it is not possible unless you run another search and are lucky enough to find the exact same file. Well if I am an idiot please someone tell me but if not then why is this feature not available? |

![]() Well, it sort of is, but it ain't the best in my opinion. The way I get around it is to keep the results there until I get the whole file. If you want to shut down and come back later, you can, but the files will only resume if they are still trying to download when you exit limewire. Yesturday I had a download that I really really wanted, so I saved a copy of the downloads.dat file (in the incomplete folder). I found this is not the folder within the limewire folder, but on the root of the drive, so be sure to get the right one. Save the copy when the stuff you want is still on the downloads list. Then put the file back over the downloads.dat file before restarting limewire. Tip: hold down the right mouse button on the file and drag just off to the right and let go, it will give you a 'Copy Here' choice! I think the reason they don't have it try to resume one that failed is because most users IP address will likely be different anyway. However, I have found that some downloads will fail, but still resume later just fine. |
