Poor use of real estate The LimeWire GUI has too much open space. The file listing windows are cramped. The controls don't need all that grey around them. A complete redesign of the GUI would not hurt, with an eye on utility. Also, where are the huge lists of files? With Bearshare and WinMX I can get thousands of files listed at once, if necessary (not always a good thing but more is better in a search.) LimeWire rarely results in a dozen finds for any search I have done, and the files are rarely what I'm looking for. There are so many .asf and .mov Trojan bombs that downloading becomes hazardous. Can't LimeWire have built in Trojan filtering to keep these listings from even showing up? My antivirus and firewall can filter files and warn me before I even download them. LimeWire can do the same. LimeWire should also be able to feed launched files to their external programs. Mine is not doing that, but can only play .mp3 files. Any others produce no reaction. Finally, I am not sure "video" is searching for realmedia files. Can this be confirmed? |
