![]() is there someway for limewire (or an external program) to read all the files i give it and to somehow rebuild the downloads.dat file so that limewire can continue downloading from where the file has left off instead of starting over again? i currently have incomplete data that will no longer continue downloading so im forced to delete them does anyone know of a way to preserve incomplete files and to continue downloading them or have any idea on how limewire knows how much has been downloaded and how to continue where it left off? thanks =D |

![]() Not sure what version you are using, but it seems that the later versions are a bit buggie in several ways as you are experiencing. If you are interested, Here is a couple of very stable versions from the past that you can try. OldVersion - Newer isn't always better ! Version 4.12.3 or 4.12.6 are probably the most stable versions without the useless Bittorrent attempt. Hope this Helps. |

![]() thanks i'll have to try them out but its not quite the solution i was after ill try rephrase the scenario say for example you were downloading a bunch of mp3's and you decide to continue downloading them at another time so you close limewire with the incomplete mp3s your computer dies and you have to reformat so you grab the incomplete mp3s and back them up in hopes you can continue downloading at a later stage now i've got these mp3s and i tried placing them back in the incomplete folder on my fresh install of limewire now limewire can see the files in that folder and loads them into the download section however they are all at 0% and will not download so i believe there must be some kind of indexing file that keeps track of all the files and how much has been downloaded (maybe an index.dat file like the older versions) basically what i want to know is where is this index for limewire 4.17.5b? or is there a program that can look at these mp3s and build an index.dat that i can use with the older versions of limewire? thanks =D |
