Dance Restore Resume Feature in all Versions!

Hello, as we all know OS and hardware are not faultless and for one reason or the other, we encounter the need to resume, continue, or re-download a file, for any number of reasons, which I won't detail here, except to say file downloads do 'stall', and need to be resumed. I find LimeWire has stopped including a resume feature, and , so we don't waste precious bandwidth resources, by having to completely re-download, LimeWire and LimeWire customers need the resume feature restored. With best regards to LimeWire and LimeWire customers, I am Richard Moore.

If you have comments/requests concerning LW 5, you're better off posting at another forum... your post might get the developers' attention there (they don't visit here often). Click on this blue link: LimeWire Forums
You'll need to register over there before you can post

If 'try again' doesn't start a stalled download - start a whole new search for the file. That's worked for me before... the download's suddenly got going again when 'try again' didn't help.

Hey Birdy, thanks for the heads up, but from going to the forums, and selecting technical issues, and windows, that's where I ended up.

Do you know how to manage limewire folders and incomplete resumes of stalled files?

Richard.

Hi Richard,

From what I've read at the other forum, LW 5 should automatically try to resume files (even though there's no 'resume' button any more & the incomplete folder doesn't show in My Library). And clicking on 'Search again' beside a stalled file should start a search & then the file can resume if sources are there.

It doesn't always work. Like I said earlier, sometimes a new search has kicked the download off where 'search again' hasn't done anything. And just now I tried another stalled download with a new search but the download didn't resume at all - even though I found a file that looks fine with 2 sources. The stalled download didn't budge but downloading the file from the new search results goes right ahead.

That's why I thought you might be better off at the forum where LW's developers post - they might be able to give you more info

Don't forget that you can revert back to LW 4 if you want to. If you're using LW basic, there's a page to download old installers: Lime Wire » Download Out-Of-Date Installers

If you're using Pro, your personal download page has a link to 4.18.8 on the left hand side - click on 'Get LimeWire Pro Classic'.
