Better Stats I would personally like to see a better stat system, something like the Gnotella stat window Chris |
Better no stats then wrong stats . You don't believe that those stats are accurate do you ? Just because they devoted an entire tab to numbers and their GUI refreshes faster doesn't mean the numbers aren't way off . |
Total Uploads Does LW have a system to see how many uploads u have done and how many MB uploaded? I think not, Gnotella is the best Gnutella client and it will forever have a much better interface than the BS and LW crap. |
Aha ... Is Gnotella still being activly developed ? Does it support UltraPeer ? I think not ! And yes , you can see how many uploads were done , just remove the "auto-clear" option for the upload tab . I'll tell you something about the damn Gnotella interface : On certain systems it goes completly nuts and is even worse then LW . LW has it problems but it has never trashed your CPU with a 100% load . And WTF are you shitting on BS ? They have a good GUI . And I did not intend my first post as an insult . I'm just saying that advanced stats are useless now since they are always way "off" . |
Just an opinion Its just my personal opinion thsi the Gnotella interface is better, didnt mean to put BS down, I personally dont like it, but other do and thats fine with me. Question with LW, does it keep the uploads there after u close the program? BS and LW are definately the 2 best in terms of functionality, but i personally like the Gnot interface better. Its too bad that Gnot isnt being developed anymore, but i give a lot of credit to LW for the ultrapeers system, works very well:) |
So your opinion is about the "look" of the interface . I thought you were also talking about the technical details . On looks I think that Gnot and BS are about the same . BTW LW doesn't keep the list after you close . Second though : Being a proud cable modem owner , why would you want to close it ? Just set it connections down to 3 or 4 , put javaw.exe in low CPU priority , put it in the system tray and let it run silently . |
No Cable Here Dont have cable, stupid 56K Cable company wont put in the service for another 6 months :( |
Better Statistics You don't have to go overboard, just a few more simple things would be great. One thing that always bothers me about the LimeWire stats window is the # of uploads it reports. For me, at least, this has always reported the total # attempted, not completed. This very quickly reaches several thousand for me as people repeatedly try and connect even tho I have all 20 slots filled (University 10BaseT LAN's ROCK) and get kicked. Every one counts. SOmething that kept track of completed uploads, or MB uploaded, would be great. I also like the Qtella stats page, which shows how many results are from each type of servent, so you get an idea of what software is serving the most files. This used to be limewire by a huge margin from what I saw, but recently it seems qtella isn't connecting to the same part of the network as limewire and I get nill. I would think the folks at LimeWire would love a feature like this, as it would demonstrate very clearly how much of the content on gnutella is provided by their software :) As far as what GUI is best, I'm from linux land, so I do't know about gnotella or BearShare, but I really love the Qtella interface, if only the network connectivity would get better. |
I'd like to see a list of what files were downloaded from me. If nothing else, I'd like the uploads to list completed uploads separately from unsuccessful ones, like the previous poster said. |
The latest version of LimeWire only displays complete uploads and far fewer transfer interrupted lines making the upload count in the stats more accurate. |
