i know someone wont like this but newest version of LimeWire have a resuming but sound like a bug. All i do is delete .limewire folder in Documents and Settings. VOLIA!! back to normal, resume is back on track. i tested it many time after i delete .limewire, the resuming is working as normal. LimeWire do have resume but i believe it a bug that it not resuming. Only Solution i know is deleting the .limewire. Sphinx, i know you are against it, but it never hurt to try it. If you want the resuming back, just backup the file. it never hurt you to try it. gbildson, i already uninstall LimeWire and remocing every traces in Program Folder. and reinstall it, it still not resuming. so i found it was .limewire folder. can you test it? Can you install a oldest version then fool around with it then install the newest version of LimeWire then delete the .limewire, then the resuming should be back. I do believe it the bugs |

Um... There's nothing wrong with the resume on LimeWire. If the file is online, search for it again and it will come up with the incomplete icon (a ripped piece of paper) then just click to download it again. This thread was started three years ago, guys. It's no longer a problem. If LimeWire can't find sources for your incomplete downloads even when you've searched for more sources (and by this I mean actually searching, not just clicking "find more sources") then there are probably no hosts for the file/s online, which means that even the Java gurus on the LW team can't do anything about it! Just remember that whenever you search for a file in the first place, try to download the one with the most sources if possible. |

Automatic RESUME I think there should be a feature called Automatic Resume or have an Automatic Resume button. Giving the consumer the choice would be better. I think all of ones files should resume automatically after each and every one of them come up "Awaiting Sources". It gets tedius always watching my incomplete files ticking down from 300 to 0 then switch over to "Awaiting Sources". Basically, I want LW to do my resuming work for me. I have to click the clear inactive files and go to my incomplete folder and shift down to resume them all over again. Considering I have to restart all of my "searches" over and over, it's the least LW could do. I know I sound like a spoiled brat, but this could be so much easier with a little programming. Please don't give me the crap of LW already does this stuff. I can tell you from years of LW experience that manually resuming your stuff dramatically helps your download ability. Sooooooooo many times I check my LW to find all my files at "Awaiting Sources" and when I do my manual resuming process....they flippin start downloading....sometimes all of them. THAT infuriates me to no end. Ughhh!! See what you can do...... Last edited by massillonmarine; November 10th, 2005 at 06:16 PM. |

Uh Well I'm not giving you any "crap" about it, it just has been fixed. If you're getting a lot of Awaiting Sources messages then maybe you should find files with more sources to start with. As long as you don't shut down LimeWire half way through a download (which would be silly because next time you start up you will most likely not be able to find your previous sources and will need to search for more) it should be remembering the sources and being able to connect to them. |

Issue Resuming Hi, New version and old version whatever. The Resume does not work, i am sorry. Only in this case: When u uninstall limewire or if that download.dat file gets wiped. These are my guesses, but so far i have just experienced pain with this. I am here to help LimeWire improve on this problem. I do not know now if in 2006 it is fixed, but i would like to have a reply to that , please. I use version 3.8 or something and it just doesnt resume, i have tried to use the newly downloaded filename for a backup of the origional 85 percent complete file, and then resume, but the dang thing doesnt rename , the file name is exactly the same. I do not get it. Please help. thanks. |

Hi Sleepless in Seatle, Okay , so I am going to install this new version 4.12.6 or somthing right? Anyways, so all i need is my D:\incomplete folder ? I have my origional files still. Will it work ? In 3.8 it just wont resume, i have tried to trick limewire with renaming of the file and stuff, just dosnt work man. And I mean with 56k u are super fked. Please tell mewhat is required from my end with regards to what i should do ? , thanks for replying. Chow |
