Question Requery sent, Waiting 10400s for results

I am a Limewire 2.3.2 pro user using ADSL & tend to share / download video.

I was just wondering if anyone else would like the ability to change the time that the software automatically waits before it tries to see if a host is availble again?.

The default configuration of approx three hours seems a little long & it sometimes takes up to a week of constant retries before eventually getting the file I am after.

I agree, I'm sick of the year-long requeries too, but you just know that if people could change it, everybody would set it to one second and the whole network would grind to a halt.

I think an hour is plenty, though.

Angry World wide wait

I agree with you although would be tempted to bring it down as low as 30 minutes.

Maybe the guys at Limewire could make this a feature of the paid for version which would encorage people to upgrade.

At the moment the only difference I have found between this & the free version is the changed search screen, the main reasons I upgraded were that someone told me that I would be able to start swarm downloads & get my stuff faster plus I feel that if someone is prepared to provide software & support it then they should be paid for it, that is unless they push the envelope on pricing & provide crap software like MS.

I agree with quite a few other people on the site that prefer the old interface. This one just decreases the amount of information that can be displayed on the screen.

Default yeah i paid for it

those of us that buy it should get more than just taking out the ads and spamware.

like more options.
might make more people pay for it!

Exclamation Definitely would get me to pay for the Pro version....

If I could modify my requery times....that feature ALONE would be worth it's weight in gold.....of course, given that all the other clowns out there weren't setting the times to some ridiculously insane retry periods ( like less than 5 minutes or so )....

Setting the requery time is possible, if you know a little Java, but I wouldn't advise you to do that.

If you feel, you want to requery for a file, you can do a simple search for the file you are already downloading. LimeWire will recognize matching files in the search results and automatically add them to the download.

You might see, that after doing a search some downloads suddenly turn from (requerying) to (connecting).
