![]() Hi there! It's a little bit embarrassing for me to admit this but I actually can't get Phex to connect to anything. And the most embarrassing part of this is... I've been using it since 2005! Something like this never happened. I thought it might be time for an update, so I installed 3.0.0.99 (while the old one was still on my computer) and wanted to run it as always but after a couple of seconds every remote host has this flashing up behind him: Error. Connection refused: connect I tried to change the listening port but this wouldn't work. I have a router and tried to open a port for the Gnutella network but this doesn't work either. Now, as far as I remember everything went rather smooth when I first installed Phex almost two years ago. I didn't change anything then and there and even the router wouldn't complain. So now I would appreciate it very much if anyone could help me out here. Thanks in advance... Oh, yeah, almost forgot: My operating system: Windows XP Version: 3.0.0.99 Connection: DSL Message: Error. Connection refused: connect Others: I have a router but this was no problem in the past |

![]() I have the exact same problem on the same configuration (same OS+phex versions). I use Kerio Personal Firewall configured to allow all traffic for java, but disabling the firewall or even closing the application completely does not solve the issue. I am behind a router, and other applications have internet access. |

![]() Which Port does Phex use? (You can find it in the network tab with the IP address (after the colon)) Could you check, - if maybe Kerio Firewall lets through only Java 1.4 or - sees Phex as single Program Best wishes, Arne

![]() Even stranger things do happen... First off, thanks for your answers. Somehow my problem just vanished - I didn't do anything, just stared at my monitor and just like that Phex connected. Really, I have no idea what the problem was or how it went away. I'm abashed... But thanks anyway! |

![]() We have seen this behaviour a few times now. It seems something doesn't yet work as it should... @Gregor: Could we add a request to the Phex GWC as soon as it takes more than 30s to connect after startup for the next version? Maybe that can solve it. Do we already have all 3 GWebCaches in 3.0?

![]() That would mean improving the host-catcher, right?

![]() Currently Phex is using port 10104, but I have tried several different ports, however, this does not seem to solve the problem. Kerio recognises Phex as "javaw.exe", does not recognise Phex as a program. All traffic is enabled for javaw through the firewall, and again, totally disabling the firewall does not solve the problem. Thx in advance. |

![]() Could you try shutting down Phex and starting it again? Maybe try this up to three times (with at least 5 minutes in between) to see if teh problem persists?
