Comp is slowin down

I just downloaded Newtella today. It seems cool enough, but now my ******* computer keeps slowing down big time. For instance, the Stooges song I am playing right now keeps slowing down. Has anybody else come across this problem? I'm running Windows ME, by the way. Just curious. Cuz I'm thinking about getting rid of Newtella already and would appreciate any feedback.
