Joe Busuttil has a spectacular aura about
Default FastStone Capture troubleshooting

When trying to capture a text consisting of about 7 pages with FastStone Capture to be able to print it, the scrolling automatically stops after only 3 or 4 pages are scrolled. Why?

Could it be that the red border that pops up when I hit the automatic scroll button is limiting the scrolling to only the first 3 pages? Have tried in vain to get rid of the red border.

I save to Editor before I start scrolling.

I am on windows 10.

Many thanks in advance to any help you can give me.

Joe

Do you have an latest version of Faststone Capture? v. 8.4, because older versions sometimes do that.

I'm assuming this is a webpage, you are trying to capture. Have you tried a different browser. E.g. Firefox instead of Edge.

Thanks for your reply. Have tried Firefox, but still the problem persists. Will keep trying, perhaps I'll finally manage by trial and error.

Default FastStone Capture scrolling problem

How to select the portion of the text I want to print before I start scrolling? By shifting the red border that pops up on the page when I open FastStone Capture? But how exactly is this done?

When I press the ESC button the scrolling stops: that's ok, but when I print
I get a print of the whole text, including the sections beyond those that I want to print.

And before I start scrolling, should I choose To Word, To Editor, To File?

When scrolling is done, do I have to save the text somewhere before printing?

I have the latest version of FastStone Capture.

Many thanks in advance for your help and patience.

I use it for pictures of stuff and screenshots, not text. Never tried what you are trying to do. Is that even possible? And if so, why not just a regular highlight and copy, without using a screen-capture program?

Default FastStone Capture

Thks for prompt reply. I use FastStone Capture because when I try to highlight a few pages with WORD the scrolling stops automatically after only two or three pages. FastStone Capture solves this problem, but I still don't know how to select parts of the pages before I start scrolling with FastStone.
Perhaps I am making my problem clearer now?

Would you know of a printed book about computer navigation that includes how to use FastStone Capture please?

Renewed thanks.

I still think you are using a cannon to shoot a sparrow.

Some web pages and for that matter programs are designed to not be easily copied or captured. Might even be a specific FastStone Capture with Windows 10 problem.

Personally I won't update to Windows 10, so if this isn't some private stuff link me to it in a PM, and I can try. I have have before captured a LOT more than 3 pages with it.

Scrolling and Printing with FastStone Capture: success at last, after many hours of trial and error. Hereunder, the method I used to obtain a print on 4 pages of a scrolled text.

1. In the system tray, click on the icon just before the last (on the right
end of the tray) then check To FILE
2. Open yr text
3 Click on the arrow-down in the system tray.

3a. Left click anywhere to start scrolling.
3b. Hit Esc button on keybd to stop scrolling.

4. Go back to the first page where the scrolling started and use the Ctrl button to adjust the size of the page to make it easily readable on A4 ppr.
(Adjusting the size of the first page automatically applies to the other pages you had scrolled)

5. Go to FILE > PRINT

6. In dialog box that pops up, headed PRINT, check the wrd PAGES and insert the page numbers that you want to print, e.g. 1 to 4.

7. Click OK

I hope this method will prove helpful to anyone who has come across my problem and never managed to find that elusive solution.
