Default Compiling

I downloaded this

http://download.limewire.org/servlet...wnload&dlID=15

The last production build source.

And i carnt get it to compile without getting along list of import errors. And i carnt find the packages if i try to find them.
an example would be:
import com.sun.java.util.collections.*;
i carnt find any package name like that.
accept for java.util.Collections.*

Do i have to set some sort of path?

I have SDK 1.3.1_03 and im using forte CE v2.

Thanks

There are very good tutorials at java.sun.com - you should read them, - or maybe buy the PRO version instead.

I'd recommend getting the latest code from CVS. The last time I checked the zips, the code was from months ago.

LimeWire usually comes with a collections.jar file that has the collections classes. If you look at the compile batch files/shell scripts in the core and gui directories, you can see how the classpath is set. You should also be using ant to build LimeWire. Be sure to follow the instructions for installing ant.

you have to get the CVS because the zips are old and every single one has errors!
don't worry about that... the cvs usually is working. if it doesn't just try back another day.

if you need help compiling the CVS there were about 3 threads with a lot of posts on this and the installing forum about compiling help in the past 4 weeks. you should read those first because as far as i know everyone has run into the same problems so far me too....

if you need more help just post or mail me. but read the other posts first because it will help a lot and that way i don't have to typ again
