![]() To start this out right; I have purchased 2 limewire licenses. It's plain to see after looking at the competing products that LimeWire's efforts should be rewarded. Below are some items that I've been thinking about which from a customer (my) perspective would make LimeWire a better product. 1. I hate the fact that the new version doesn't allow you to attach more than 12 connections. I know the reason behind the mod, but it wouldnt stop someone from just using the old version anyhow. 2. If you have downloads in your incompletes folder there is no way to resume them if you've forgotten the correct file size to re-download... (too much crap incomplete files out there) Suggestion: Allow us to right-click on a file and cause the file to re-search and download. 3. I was using 2.33 and the update failed saying I had a missing class... Read about many other users having this same issue. Get some more test machines... I know testing is tough in a non-standard environment but it's neccessary. 4. On the connections tab tell us how many HOSTS are connected to a particular server and how fast their link is. (gnufrog use to give this info, so it's out there somewhere) Since we're now limited to 12 they gotta be 12 large ones. 5. Integrate a couple of the items from Statistics (Total File MBs & Total Hosts) to display in the bottom frame of the console, the title bar or menu area. It's a pain to have another window taking up deskspace to just give stats. 6. Scrap the WishList feature and add like a favorites area where you can save any search... Not just the ones that thurn up nothing... There is too much crap out there; not many things will turn up no result. 7. Be more verbose on the functionality your removing when informing your paying customers of an update. 8. In the download window allow us to right-click on the file and force a re-search. 9. Time each download to research every so often (1 hour or 30 minutes or something). I'm finding that sometimes connections say speed 0kb/s and just stick on downloading at 0kb/s without ever researching, etc... I'm forced to kill the download, re-search to find the proper file, then click download again... That's ridiculous. 10. Your idea about allowing us to browse nodes is a very cool idea... Every once in a while you'll find someone extremely fast between yourselves and wonder what else he might be sharing... I know there are ays you can already connect in, but it'd be cool to do it from the same console.[B] ![]() |

You might want to do it for some searches but being connected to 12 ultrapeers all the time takes away connection slots from other people and reduces the search horizon for people with only three connections (they might see you 4 times now, instead of you and possibly three other users 3 times each). I don't think LimeWire can tell you the connection speed of ultrapeers, because they simply don't tell you their connection speed during handshake. Quote:
