Slow Downloads Ok, so i let downloads just go by themselves, right? Then I come back to check and i see "waiting 2780s to reconnect...?" Um, what the ****? Why does it take SOOOOOO long to try and reconnect? What happened to retrying every 30 or 60 seconds? I am using LimeWire Pro 2.3.3. I don't see any way to change this in the settings/preferences/tools etc. |

There is no way of changing the timeout. But version 2.4 reduces the timeout to five minutes (although it doesn't re-search every five minutes). There is little point in re-searching too often - too many searches seriously clog up network bandwidth and until your local part of the network changes, your search results will be the same (If you didn't find it two seconds ago, it is unlikely you'll find it now). You can manually search for the file as frequently as you like (bearing in mind the above). If you find the file this way, LimeWire will automatically try to connect to the server and continue the download (may not succeed - but it will try). Mark |
