The idea is to have fun with p2p. This can and will be done without bad language or personal insults or attacks being allowed. The less of that stuff the more fun for all. And maybe a large amount of memory for everyone to remember that they were also newbies once so go easy on the questions you think are lame- even if you are hearing it for the tenth time that day and the answer is in the post above! BTW, you don't think a sweet young thing such as myself would dare use my regular name for this hazardous work, do you? Now I must be good and not do too many large images around here- But just to open things properly, let's all have some sharing fun and.........

I Bow To You! Ursula, you said it all in a nutshell! Having fun with p2p is whats its all about. But its no fun when the darn thing doesn't work....*L* Believe me I have no desire to personally insult or attack anyone, though sometimes one has to prod a little to get someones attention. Seriously, you have to agree that there are many problems that users are having, the same problems over and over again, that are falling on "deaf ears". LimeWire has been around quite awhile now, and these problems still go unfixed. Example: Quote: "That said, we do have an alternate windows installer for LimeWire Pro that will almost definitely work for you. It's not avaiable for the free version basically JUST BECAUSE we didn't have the SAME MOTIVATION to make it, but if you buy pro, it's listed at the bottom." (I capped several of the words, not from the original text) Now what gives with that? The "SAME MOTIVATION", seems to me that there should be no difference in the code or technology being used in either the free or Pro version, other than the "nice" little bundle that goes along with the free version. The spyware issue has been around since version 1.8, and it only gets worse. Bad enough the popup-ads and tracking, and the trojan delimma, which I for one still find it hard to believe that no one had an idea what it was going to do, the performance issues only compound user dislike. My point being, that is the reason why so many users are opting for the cleanclient versions. At least they don't have to put up with the spyware. I have no qualms about paying for a piece of software if it did what it was advertised to do, no matter if it cost only a few dollars or hundreds of dollars. But, I'm definately not going to pay for something that is buggy, even if it only costs a dollar. I guess some people are more tolerant and are willing to pay, no matter how much hair they have to pull out...*L*... This has gotten off the original topic...*L*.. I do wonder if any of the moderators (aka) developers will respond to this post? |

Super Moderators KathW, thank you for the info. I was not aware that there was such a thing as a Super Moderator. Guess I just never dug that deep into the operation of a forum before. See, we all learn something new everyday.... :-) Was Ursula "hired" to clean up this "town"..She does wear the Sheriff's badge...(just kidding) I also see that you fall into that category. Not trying to patronize, or slight anyone else that is putting their efforts forward in trying to help, I will say that I have seen many a helpful posts from you, and thats good. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to you if you were offended (referring to your previous post, "Well, thank you very much") that was not my intent. I'm sure it is very frustrating to get slammed over and over with the same problems or complaints, making it difficult not to respond with something inappropriate. But whats sad about that is that the ones that are trying to help are catching all the flak, while the ones that should be getting it are just sitting back. Users want honest, sincere answers, not excuses. For instance, this was stated, referring to an install problem (see my previous post above) Quote: "almost definately".. To me "almost" means maybe..definately means for sure. What that says to me is try it, if it works great, if not, your out of luck. I need not say who made that statement. I take it that you and most of the others that are trying to help are not that savvy to the inner workings, meaning the coding, of the software, (I know I'm not) therefore you can only rely on your experience as to what works and what doesn't. Work-arounds is not the answer, fixing the problem is. I stand corrected if I am wrong about that. I will compliment the LimeWire Team for their efforts in helping to advance the Gnutella platform, but I think (just my opinion) that their priorities in reference the software, and in particular the users interests has shifted to something different over a period of time. Just my opinions, and you know what people say about opinions, "They are like...........everybody has one". Bet you thought I was gonna say something profane....*L*.. and thank you for letting me air my opinions. :-) |

Now pass this on to 10 people and on the fifth day . . . Please cut it with the animated gifs. They're just another eyesore.(tho i like that radar smiley) And as far as I know, there are no "Super Moderators". Anybody registered can change their status name. Notice mine is "Meh." Cheers Yes, one of the benefits of being Registered is to be able to choose a status name. But you do not get to go into another's post if they have been naughty. But you will of course always be good, so this is just an hello and to let you know I am real. And serious. btw- Most sorry you do not like my 'eyesores' but I have noticed that your sig never gets any funnier! Indeed. I at least thank you for canning the frog.
