Default Morpheus OS 1.8.2

I have noticed that I am apparently being bumped form limewire hosts and being replaced with Morpheus hosts. This completely sucks. The lamers who use Morpheus are notorius for not sharing files, no wonder Kazaa kicked them off of their network. You really should add the code to either let users choose to block other platforms or just do it unilateraly. I was downloading a file that I have been patiently working on for 2 days, and what happens?? I lose all connections, my download, and lo and behold all hosts are replaced with Morpheus. This has got to end.

Thumbs down Morpheus will drive me away!

I have the same issue. possiblly Limewire will see this, the keyword is in the title.

I am very displeased with the productivity of my use of Limewire since I share not with fellow Limewire users now but Morpheus.

Limewire user shareing habits, leaving the switch off, are poor enough, I find Morpheous to be intolarable. I have picked so many files only to find out they are not available.

Hey, Limewire, what the hell are these files there for anyway. Change the system so we don't see files people are not sharing. I mean, what's the point. And if they are not sharing them, don't give them credit for it. There needs to be more insentive for people to share. And don't let then get away with specifing their windows directory. I'm tired of going through that waste pile. Delay there service a week if they do that, you can look for key files, give them a warning first. Their just cluttering up the shared files with junk.

I just can't find what I am looking for anymore. There just isn't the same quality or quantity of shared files by a long shot.

I just may have to start looking for a better P2P alternative.

I wonder, did they do this only to the unregistered group?

Let's wait another week or so, maybe it's just some initial problems related to the transition from Morpheus PE (aka Gnucleus 1.6.0.0) to Morpheus PE 1.9 (aka Gnucleus 1.8.2.0).

I'm beginning to be a little suspecious of those new ultrapeers, too. John Marshall (aka the main Gnucleus Developer) proudly announced, it could handle 5 times as many leaf nodes as LimeWire, but I suspect it's a piece of crap that doesn't forward queries to its leaf nodes and also let's too many nodes become ultrapeers although there is no need for any more of them.

I hope the LimeWire developers are willing to take steps if Morpheus is indeed unhealthy for the network.

Thumbs down I agree. Block this Morpheus crap!

I completely agree. Like some kind of fungus, these MorpheusOS 1.8.2.0 "ultrapeers" slowly dominate my host connections...displacing the much more capable and sharing-friendly LimeWire 2.4.x hosts. The result: fewer files shared, fewer hosts discovered, sudden drops from say, 500 total hosts in the stats to 10-20 hosts...total files from 90,000-100,000 to 500-800. Yeah, just what I wanted...

There should definitely be some option to disregard other vendors' ultrapeers and hosts.

Yes, but client blocking brings up the whole issue of bearshare and xolox and having a bunch of mini-gnutelllas that benefits nobody and screaming, shouting and flaming throughout 30 page long threads. Let's not go there again. If there's something screwy with the Gnucleus/Morpheus ultrapeer implementation (which as of 1.8.1 I think there is), then I'm sure the dev or somebody else will figure it out, after all, what is open source for? Maybe the 1.9.1 version fixes something? It seems to hog more bandwidth anyways. Who knows?

And the stats window is so full of $h!t, I have no idea why it's still even in there. Even the hosts count on limewire.com is all wrong. That's a part of ultapeer, and it can't be changed (well, easily).

Cheers!
