my avi movies have no sound
 

how come there is no sound when I play avi movies???

they might use ogg audio codec, and it is included in the divx bundle http://download.divx.com/divx/DivX502Bundle.exe

For an even better bet, try Nimo's Codec Pack v5.0 build 7
nothing much to do for installation and just about everything you can imagine works......
