With our German and French translations of the LimeWire client in beta, we're hoping that some of our international users could suggest a few German or French sites that are popular for downloading free software. We would like to make our translations as accessible as possible to international users!

The major german download sites (like www.download.de) already offer the new LimeWire Beta.

Really? What are the other major sites? I just looked at www.chip.de and they have a 2.5.2 beta in English. We'd like them to offer the 2.5.3 beta in German.

AFAIK chip.de updates its download offerings quite frequently. You could send them a quick note that there's a new version available, but I believe they are aware of LimeWire as are the other major German download sites:

They will definitely update after the stable version is released.

I downloaded LimeWire 2.5.3 Mac OS X. The german translation is the POOREST translation I ever saw in a program. Was it done with babelfish?!? ;-)
Is there any possibility to switch back to an english version (without switching the whole Mac OS X to english) until there are better translations of LimeWire?

Find your limewire.props file and open it with an editor. Set the LANGUAGE property (which should be "de" at the moment) to "en".

Is there any project to release a Spanish version?

Spanish version is in the works. It's been submitted to the cvs yesterday.

FreeWire has internationalalized versions including Spanish. I've been using their French version for a long time now. There are small translation errors but it's good enough for me.

The Spanish version that FreeWire has released is a poor translation which LimeWire put together and released through http://www.limewire.org. If you want to use it, just join the open source project and download the appropriate messagesbundle. Feel free to edit the messages bundle in your favorite text when you find translation errors. We are setting up a page where users can report translation improvements.
