good design

Hi , as a person with an interest in design,(I am a film designer in Australia) but less time to learn computer lingo, I a remain curious why not many programers, understand that the current graphics and language used, do not really assist non literates to understand the the subject.
For example i can use to a moderate degree ( i make part of my living from it) both Photoshop and lightwaves,(these took some learning) i would hope that something for pleasure ie Limewire would be easier to use.
maybe I have to come back in a few years, when program design has developed, to allow ludites like me to understand at a glance what the story is.
It is a shame i think

exactly - LW has a great user front end - easy to use - self axplanatory layout - what precisely is so hard to follow?
