Default Mysterious false search results ??

Often when I do searches i get results which seems to match my query completely. However they may be in the wrong fileformat (zip instead of mp3, asf instead of zip and so on). They often have the same size whatever I search for. Also when downloading them they seem to be only garbage.

I can get matches for complete nonsense words - for example like:

"bnasc brtstr mp3"

Gave a lot of hits like:
"bnasc_brstr_mp3" exe
"bnasc_brstr_mp3" mpg
"bnasc_brstr_mp3" zip

and also hits looking like this:
!!_YEEHAA_!!_bnasc_brkstr_mp3.zip

Everything garbage (or maybe virus?, I have a Mac so I can fortunately not run the exe-files).

Anyone knows anything about these things? It's a mystery to me.

That's what I suspected. Thanks for the info.

Is there a way to get rid of it? I thought I could block the IP but Limewire doesn't show the IP-adress in the search window does it?

:-)

"IP-adress in the search Windows"

Yes it does. Filter out the IP Address show via the Options, Filter Hosts....

I am a windows user so the method may be different on your system if you dont use windows. Right Click on the title bar in the search window.... a dropdown list will appear, this is a list of optional fields for the search window... check the 'location' which is the IP address of the source.

In ol' Gnucleus you can set filter rules.
Like: All results containing [my search word] and porn
shall be discarted.

Seems to be [apple] + click on the title bar in the search window on Mac. Thanks for the help. Didn't know of this option.

Default No Location in Drop Down Menu

I can't seem to find the option "locate" in this drop down menu, only "identifier avec Bitzi" which opens a web page which tries to tell me something about this file.

I am using French version of LW 2.5.4 for Mac OSX

You must have the cursor on the title bar... that is at the top of the search window... to get the correct menu... I think you are selecting on a search result itself.
