See, my computer doesnt like limewire 2.6 or whatever so I know that the one of the earlier version (the last one with the diffrent layout) works great, My computer messed up and I had to format and I lost it, But I need 1.6 can I have the URL to downlaod it?

Maybe you should also try other clients. Most of the time older versions of clients are outdated and will not be able to connect or connect very slow.
You will not have a good experience in the current network with Limewire 1.6. Its just to old already.
Just try something else there are many up-to-date clients out there that are very good too.

LW 1.8 introduced Gnutella 0.6 connections, so I would think it still uses 0.4 connections. - That means it is blocked by Bearshare and it will have a hard time staying connected to newer LimeWire nodes, not to mention that it will be inable to download from many clients with upload queueing.

If you are using a PC/Windows I strongly recommend you hace a look at Shareaza... I know it is one among many but it is fast / tight and has PILE of features... new release even as Skins... www.shareaza.com

Don't misunderstand... I am a paid owner of Limewire and it is my second favorite since I discovered Shareaza

yes - I too now alternate beween LW and shareaza (though its getting hard keeping up with the pace of the shareaza upgrades) - shareaza is a really fine package and has always installed much more easily for me than LW which seems to hesitate at an NT with Netscape configuration (keeps telling me to upgrade my version of IE)

its starting to seem to me that LW is like the favorite uncle you know you can always depend on whereas shareaza is the cocky cousin its fun to be around
