Default Freeloader

Hi,

i think the freeloader option should be file size sharing, not number. I might be considered a freeloader sharing only 60 files but all are large album/mixes, totalling 3GB - not huge but certinaly not that small either.

Also, i've read a lot of responses about the "Requery Sent, Waiting #" and too me should be avoidbale to a deghree. For example, i'm assuimg the network stores a database of links which is what is returned - when a user disconnects from the network, why arn't there links removed or flagged so that, if i truly wish to wait for them to come back online, i can but atleast i know what i'm waiting for.

Anyway, definatly frustraiting but I relaise this isn't really under limewire's control...

I agree with you on the number/size of files bit. I have my freeloader limit set quite low - if people just share a little bit it is better than sharing nothing.

Search results are only returned from active clients. The status of clients can (and does) change rapidly so you may not find a client even immediately after doing a search.

But more usually - the client is still there, but has no free upload slots.

(me again)
You know what would be nice, if you could have some type of priority sharing network. I have *a lot* of bandwidth but need it for work, however, if i know someone with a lot of bandwidth and a lot of quality stuff, i would be happy to open it up - as it is i think my current computer has been at max capacity since i joined the network, about a week ago - how much have i managed to download? 2 files - doesn't really seem fair...

...maybe new users should just put some of their own files out there to share instead of sharing only files they picked up from other users...

It is hard to know what is right.

I believe in sharing and often leave my system on instead of shutting down at night.

When I first started Limewire I already had about 600 files to share in existing directories so it wasn't a problem for me. I would think anyone could build a shared library fairly quickly. I set my shared requirement very low and I think the default is zero.

Thumbs up

Thank you bpmax. I'm one of the new guyes (girls) on the net. I've never downloaded anything exept program updates before, and my share-folder was empty at the start. Now, after on day I can at least share 26 files - not mutch - but it's all I've got so far. How am I to get more if nobydy wants to share whith me? Anyway, my disk is kind of small - 30 GB only, so I can't build this up in proporsions. I'm happy to share what I've got, and take a lot of pleasure in LimeWire. Have a nice day everyone.

A norwegean girl.

Yall are nutty man. 30gb is huge. I have 15. I dont really care about sharing and leeching as my comp has far far more practical applications. Are all your lives limewire or somethin. No offense but the way you talk you make it sound like it. a leecher is someone in a GAME who does no work while you are out there gettin covered in blood gore etc and still reaps the benefits. a person with 6 files like me is no newbie....they just have school, girlfriends, friends, halloween, bdays, lives and all that. I could not honestly care less if someone couldnt download from me.
