Perhaps you're correct. I actually set my "freeloader" limit to 50. I do not want to shut out those who would like a few songs and I assume that in this day and time, most people can come up with at least 50 songs on their own with out the help of file sharing networks. Heck young folks today can probably just rip all their CDs and have several hundred songs. However, for the benefit of those less fortunate I try to give them a chance. Dennis |

What I know: I see the same files *trying* to be downloaded day after day from me and the % sits at 0 while others are able to zoom in and out and receive what they wanted. So, for myself, I believe my freeloader settings are working. I'm not so sure about that. I don't know that much about it, but from personal experience I have a whole list of files to download that are always at 0%, and I'm sharing over a thousand mp3s. I hope no one classifies THAT as freeloading! |

Quote: Perhaps you're correct. I actually set my "freeloader" limit to 50 Dennis J. Does that make ME a freeloader? My measley 34 shared files take up 3.1gb on a system that has less than 17 to work with. Not a single one of them is an .mp3, either. I've also added ORIGINAL content, both from myself, and stuff found elsewhere. And yet, YOU consider me a FREELOADER? ..!.. ..!.. Last edited by piagi9; January 16th, 2003 at 03:10 PM. |

My limit is also at 50, simply to make sure you are classified as a freeloader. Seriously though, that's unfortunate. I wish you could check and see if people downloading from you were sharing. Most of the time I am unable to browse even when it says I can. WIth all the different clients out there it just doesn't seem like you'll ever be able to check for everyone. That leaves us with the flawed min files shared to not be considered a leech thing. Luckily for you, not everyone sets it at 50. Last edited by MamiyaOtaru; January 16th, 2003 at 07:50 PM. |

Quote: "Thank you for your support" Bartles and James It just pissed me off, is all. So I'm not in to music and dirty pics. Sue me. My files average 200+Mg, and some of them I don't even WANT anymore, they're just there 'cuz people are still accessing them. That's what sharing is about. And I had been fighting for days to clear up enuff space (failed)for a .vob file (need my practice) when I read that, so I just kinda blew. Feel bad about it now. Sorry. Don't need bad feelings on this forum. Or anywhere, for that matter. P.S. I cheated. Added a bunch of pics and mp3's to get in most peoples limits. Just hate to see the bandwidth wasted on people downloading them is all. Still, it's their life... |
