convert to mp3

When I add songs from my own cds to my library to share ,I notice
they arent mp3 .Does it matter? If so ,how do I convert to
mp3?

To Make Mp3's from a CD you need a ripper-converter programme like CDex
There are more programme's that can do this, but CDex makes reasonable Mp3's and is easy to use.
