Library Problems

My shared file does not show in my library. To find music I've downloaded, I actually have to go to my program files on my hard drive. Is this normal. If not, how do I fix it?

hmm i am not sure, in your library try clicking on the refesh button, which should resfresh what is seen in the folder and your files should appear I believe.

In LimeWire, go to: Tools > Options > Saving
this will show the path to the folder LimeWire defaults to for saving files. You can change the folder to save to by clicking "Add" and then browse to your normal folder and click apply.

Then go to: Tools > Options > Sharing and see what folder(s) LimeWire is sharing. You can delete folder(s) and add whichever folder(s) you wish.

If you have any files in the default LimeWire saving folder, you can manually move them into your normal folder and delete the LimeWire default folder in Tools > Options...

I personally choose NOT to share the folder that LimeWire saves to. I prefer to test the files before I move them to my shared folder. Don't want to share any "bad" files.

I hope this makes sense. If you have any more questions, please post back.

This is an excellent practice Julie!... You're doing your part to help the integrity of the network. :)

I had that problem too! All I had to do was create a -->new<-- folder to put the saved files in. Do that with the steps that Julie Z described, and then it worked.

:P

You do not need to use LimeWire to delete subfolders in your shared folder. You didn't mention your platform... if your running Windows, you can simply use Windows Explorer to delete any folders you no longer need.
