![]() I've been using LimeWire on Mac OS X and haven't been happy with how it is currently working, it really seems to bog down my system. I have a Linux machine available and am thinking about moving LimeWire over to that. I still have a bunch of files that haven't completed downloading on the Mac side. What I was wondering is, is there a way to move all of the necessary LimeWire files over to the Linux machine so that the Linux version of LimeWire will know what files I still want downloaded, and be able to resume downloading of partially download files? Basically I need to know what LimeWire files are needed so that LimeWire know what I've requested to have downloaded, but hasn't been downloaded yet... |

![]() I run linux, and in the directory that is used for incomplete downloads there is a file called downloads.dat as well as the incompleted files. I assume this holds the information for the downloaded incompleted files. If the mac version also has downloads.dat you could try copying it along with the incomplete files to the directory you will use for incomplete downloads. Shane |

![]() Yes, the Mac version does have a downloads.dat in the Incomplete folder. I looked at it with a text editor and it looks like it may have some path information in there that wouldn't be the same on the Linux system. I wonder if I could just do a find/replace and translate the Mac specific path into the correct Linux-specific path and be Ok? Would love to here from someone who has actually tried this! |

![]() I haven't tried it, but I wonder if this will work: Download LimeWire for Linux. Copy your incomplete folder (downloads.dat or not) into your Linux Incomplete folder. When you open LimeWire, go to Library and click on Incomplete. If the files show up, resume them. Maybe it'll create a new downloads.dat that matches the files. I have no idea how it all works, but may be worth a try. Maybe even the downloads.dat file will copy too. I have a feeling it won't work because of the different platforms for the downloads.dat file, but hey... what the heck? ![]() (p.s. I've had a few glasses of wine tonight, and I'm not very computer literate, so forgive the stupidity if that's what this is!! ![]() |
