![]() Wow, this stuff is so far out of my league. You guys are so smart and I have no clue what I'm doing. Please help an old man with one simple question. All I want to know, is how do I get the minutes to show up on the download page. Before I download something I want to know how long it is, in minutes. Thank you for your help. I just hope I can find your response. |

![]() Hello sir I don't think you can get the time to show in the search results. You'll find by watching the file size you'll learn to get a feel for time needed to download, but those times vary greatly. Half the fun of downloading is finding something that will download quickly; most of the time the files are real teasers: they start quickly, then stop or quit altogether. Still, waking up to find a complete file or more is addictive. I've read that about 10% of downloads succeed, so patience is a virtue. If you are wondering about the length of time a song or movie will play, that too is dependent on file size. Higher quality sound and sight means much more information needs to be stored--a bigger file size. Sorry if that's too much or too little information: the short answer is the filesize is the number to watch. Once you've started a download, Limewire will do the calculations to show you how the rate of download converts into time remaining. Regards Stief (just learning too) |

![]() Thank you for the one response that I got from Stief. That was really nice of you to take the time. I do know that it is possible to show the time of songs, I just don't know how. I wrote to the Limewire company, and the person there told me to click on the title bar and change something in order to get the length of songs. I just felt like I started to bug them, so I thought I would try here instead. If anybody could walk me through the clicking of the title bar because when I do it nothing happens. Thanks again for your time. --Beginner! |

![]() Thank you--my pleasure. Right-click (PC) or control-click (Mac) will bring up a submenu to show more columns. The "Audio" option includes a column for "Length," but the times will only display if available from the song's host. More information (and images) that you can browse at your leisure can be found in the UserGuide. Here's the link if you haven't seen it already: http://www.limewire.com/index.jsp/userguide It helps to know the version of your operating system, then others may know more particular ways to help. Best wishes--stief |
