Angry Beeps and "whirring" noises in the middle of songs..

What's with some of those mp3's that have the "three-toned beeps" that accompanies the message stating "the number you have dialed is no longer in service;" and there has been an odd whooshing snythesized noise in the middle of them as well. What's going on? Some myopic troll trying to have fun?

Are you using LimeWire to play your mp3s? If so, DON'T. If not, try downloading the songs again. Some people obviously don't know how to encode proper mp3 files.

Post Not using LW for playback...

...I know about the "choppy" playback of the LimeWire client; and only use it to listen to files I'm in the process of downloading. Nope, the noises are in fact embedded (not unlike reporters in Iraq) in the tracks; as I hear them when I play it back in my Windows Media Player. I just wish I knew what mp3 files DON'T have that corruption. Thanks for the reply....

Default Consider this

You have been downloading files that were corrupted but the kind hosts you downloaded from, neglected to warn you of this fact. Are you leaving these same files in your own Shared file so that you can pass on these "noisy" tracks to other unsuspecting people?

This is a general plea for responsibility. I wish more people would edit the labels on their Shared files so that:

(a) we can actually know what the listing is rather than see some obscure track number or unhelpfully long entry that disappears before telling us what we want to know:

(b) they warn us if the file is incomplete — there is nothing more frustrating than collecting a file that stops arbitrarily during the first chorus; and

(c) they warn us if the quality is poor (whether because of corruption or because the file is a bootleg recording of a concert or a poor rip).
