Default platform percentages

I am wondering how LimeWire is spread across platforms.

Depending on the precentages, it makes absolutely no sense to share stuff for an underproportionate platform, considering that LW prefers connecting to LW.

Also, it allows conclusions regarding the competitiveness of LimeWire on Platforms where there are alternatives (PC, Linux) compared to platforms where it is (more or less) alone.

I only use LW cos I have a mac and there aren't a lot of other P2P apps for mac. If I had a PC I would never use LW since there are so many P2P apps that are better.

Question Another Platform?

Hi,

I run Limewire on an old Mac I was given (I've been sick for a couple of years and will be for at least as long again). As a sick, single pauper I cannot afford a new Mac but Limewire (the program, not the people) keepr telling me to upgrade to a version I cannot run.

I don't mind paying, Limewire seems very cheap and maybe I'll be able to afford a new Super-Mac by year's end. Unfortunately my *only* way of paying is to send cash, GBP too (it's silly to most people but it's true, believe me - I've tried many other ways but they don't work for me).

I'd also like to be able to use Limewire on my platform of choice, EPOC Release 5. I use a Psion 5mx (known to many as a PDA - it ain't, it's a very powerful computer that fits in my pocket ) which has JAVA support and some JAVA programs for it are very good. Unfortunately it's an older JAVA version and the machine only supports 112 kb modems (twice as fast as my phone company's lines though).

There are no other filesharing programs for ER5 that I know of.

What hope have I?

Phil.
