There is a new studio album out from one of the longer running groups. I downloaded ten of the eighteen tracks by name and three of them were spoilers.
Someone has made up a loop of a few bars taken from Track 8 and put the tracks out there to hide the real downloads.

Please, if you have any of these fake tracks in your Shared files, delete them immediately to prevent this simple device from interfering with the free exchange of this album.

Hello!

Yes this do not only affect that particular artist but these fake files exists for many songs and artists. They are an attempt by the music industry to tell you and other P2P users that you should pay for the music instead.

If it is affecting many of the current releases, it becomes all the more important for Gnutella users to be self-disciplined and to trash all the fakes as soon as they are detected. That way, the majority of the files on system at any one time will be genuine.
